Jeanne Hackenberg Deb Slattery · Discussion with Rich Wilson from Technology Department o Global Connect system is feasible to use for parent notification of student discipline & grades. o Manual uploading of information would be required but the notification phone call would be automatic o Issue: Not everyone is in the system at this point o Issue: Edline is not connected to the Discipline Manager system (it could eventually be done) § IU uses a system that does connect the two o Technology Department will contact other schools about their current practices.

o Failure lists/Progress Reports § All teachers should have access to a failure list to identify MOD students who need work § Ideas for improvement: · Provide incentives for students to get out of MOD? · Create MOD class of students who are struggling in a specific class and assign them to that specific teacher · Create a modified MOD that rotates based on student failure needs. · Teachers need a list of where MOD students are located available to them.
· Future considerations o Tweak future schedule options § Teacher planning or advisory period at end of day · Modify school schedule to dismiss at 2:20 – all teachers stay until 3:05? · Allow students who are proficient or advanced on PSSA (or who pass Keystone Exams) and are passing classes to leave school at normal dismissal time · Discipline issues/grades, etc. would cause students to stay 40 minutes later for detention, remediation, etc. § Permanent ISS room · Students can be sent down on a per class basis · Normed behavior for this area o No iPods, or games etc. o Must do work o Behavior Modification worksheet that must be completed and accepted by Teacher o Apologize to teacher before being accepted back in class o Creates a positive learning environment for the classroom.
o Proposal idea????: § Change target graduation rate (98%) as a measure to identifying students who are at risk to not graduating. · Proactive meetings with these at-risk students throughout their senior year to avoid failures.
